Yongsan-gu Hosts Lifelong Learning Exhibition and Literacy Festival... Lifelong Learning Experience Zone and Exhibition of Over 200 Works by Students Held
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) held the '2023 Yongsan-gu Lifelong Learning Exhibition and Literacy Festival' on the 1st at the Yongsan-gu Lifelong Learning Center. The event was organized to share the achievements of lifelong learning institution students and to reflect on the value and meaning of lifelong learning.
The participants included about 100 people, such as ▲institutions participating in excellent lifelong learning programs ▲neighborhood learning centers ▲adult literacy education institutions ▲excellent learning clubs ▲and lifelong learning students who experienced the event firsthand.
The opening ceremony of the event proceeded in the order of ▲pre-event performance ▲introduction of guests ▲screening of lifelong learning achievement videos.
After the opening ceremony, the experience plaza featured various programs such as ▲lifelong learning promotion ▲calligraphy postcards ▲leather keyring making ▲knot craft brooch making ▲tarot reading, and more.
Additionally, over 200 works created by lifelong learning excellent programs, neighborhood learning centers, Seorosero School, excellent learning clubs, and adult literacy classes were exhibited in the lobby of the lifelong learning center, allowing attendees to appreciate the diverse works of the students.
Moreover, a 'Literacy Festival' was prepared for about 40 adult literacy class students.
In particular, the 'Literacy Festival' began with Yongsan-gu Mayor Park Hee-young acting as a one-day mentor, holding a communication session under the theme 'English Expressions Good to Teach Your Grandchildren.' Afterwards, a professional instructor conducted recreational activities such as singing and dancing under the theme 'You Are Cool (GO).'
Mayor Park said, “As we talk about the era of 100 years of age, the time available for learning has also increased,” and added, “I hope that people can receive various education regardless of age and have opportunities to communicate with others at the lifelong learning center.”
