Ahn Cheol-soo: "Is Cancelling Lee Jun-seok's Disciplinary Action Restoring Him as Party Leader?"

Assemblyman Ahn Cheol-soo Posts Criticism on Facebook
"Innovation Committee Does Not Even Mention Yoon or the Party"

The People Power Party decided to cancel the suspension of party membership for former leader Lee Jun-seok and Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, while Assemblyman Ahn Cheol-soo criticized the party's Innovation Committee (Innovation Committee) for "not even mentioning the most important innovation topics, the president and the party."

On the 2nd, Assemblyman Ahn said on his Facebook, "I want to point out that it is wrong to act as if all problems will be solved just by intra-party harmony and the dispatch of senior members from Yeongnam."

Earlier that day, the People Power Party resolved an Innovation Committee general amnesty agenda to cancel the disciplinary actions against former leader Lee and Mayor Hong.

In response, Assemblyman Ahn questioned, "If the disciplinary action against Lee Jun-seok, who was disciplined and stepped down as party leader due to allegations of instructing evidence destruction in a sexual bribery case, is canceled, does that mean the party leader position will be restored?"

He continued, "If they embraced them out of fear of the general election due to the approval ratings they might gain after leaving, then the right thing to do is to examine why some citizens support them and strive to regain public sentiment," adding, "What should be feared is not Lee Jun-seok but the alienated public sentiment."

Assemblyman Ahn said, "The Innovation Committee's proposal to dispatch senior Yeongnam members to the Seoul metropolitan area cannot be a fundamental solution," and added, "We should think about finding good candidates to win. What is the basis for believing that senior Yeongnam members will be competitive if they come to the metropolitan area? Isn't it right to find better candidates nationwide to meet the public's expectations?"

Furthermore, Assemblyman Ahn emphasized, "The public demands that the president stop ideological politics, form a clean and competent government, and carry out rational state administration," and stressed, "The party should not blindly accept the presidential office's intentions, and if they differ from public sentiment, the leadership should speak up, as this is what the people demand."
