Hampyeong-gun Hosts the 20th Hampyeong Branch President's Senior Gateball Tournament

Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that the "20th Hampyeong Branch President's Senior Gateball Tournament," hosted by the Hampyeong Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, successfully concluded on the 31st of last month.

The tournament was held at three venues, including the all-weather stadium in Hampyeong-eup.

More than 150 seniors from 10 teams across 9 towns and townships participated, showcasing their enduring vitality through intense matches.

Along with the competition, the seniors also had time for socializing, strengthening harmony and camaraderie.

As a result of the tournament, Hampyeong-eup took first place, Haebo-myeon was the runner-up, and Sonbul-myeon secured third place.

County Governor Sang-ik Lee said, "We will continue to expand the infrastructure for gateball, which is very popular among seniors, to support them in leading healthy and happy lives in their later years."
