The Germany office was established with the purpose of attracting investment, promoting trade, and revitalizing local diplomacy. Its main roles include supporting companies, pioneering overseas markets, attracting foreign investment, activating international exchange and cooperation as well as public diplomacy, collecting information on current issues, and attracting tourists.
Among these, companies operating locally will receive support such as one-on-one consultations between overseas buyers and companies, resolving export difficulties through expert consultations, providing market trends and information, and discovering buyers.
The support targets export companies with headquarters or factories located in Chungnam. Chungnam Province plans to focus on stabilizing the Germany office this year and strengthen its capabilities in investment attraction and trade support starting next year.
Before opening the Germany office, Chungnam Province has been operating overseas offices in Tokyo, Japan; Hanoi, Vietnam; New Delhi, India; and Jakarta, Indonesia.
Next year, plans are underway to establish additional overseas offices in the United States and China.
Kim Tae-heum, Governor of Chungnam Province, said, "It is meaningful to open the Chungnam Trade Office in Frankfurt, the gateway to Europe and the center of economy, finance, transportation, and logistics," adding, "We hope the Germany office will become a seed for mutual prosperity between Korea and Germany."
