Kim Beom-seop, CEO of Jarvis & Villains, the operator of 'Samzzumzzum', who was accused of violating the Certified Tax Accountant Act, has been cleared of charges.
The Criminal Division 7 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Geon-uk) decided not to prosecute CEO Kim, who was accused of violating the Certified Tax Accountant Act, citing 'no suspicion'.
The prosecution judged that the violation of the Certified Tax Accountant Act could not be applied to the comprehensive income tax refund application agency platform service.
'Samzzumzzum' is a tax platform that helps with tax filing and income tax refunds, providing services that act on behalf of users for comprehensive income tax filing and refunds by entering personal information, and connecting them with tax accountants.
The Korea Association of Certified Tax Accountants and others reported 'Samzzumzzum' to the police in March 2021, alleging that it was acting as a tax agent without tax agent qualifications, but the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul decided not to prosecute in August last year.
In response, the accusers filed an objection, and although the prosecution took over the case in September of the same year, the outcome did not change.
