Establishing Public-Private Networks Contributing to the Revitalization of Welfare Jobs
Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 1st that it was selected as an outstanding institution for the ‘2023 Disabled Employment Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare on the 30th of last month.
Eunpyeong-gu received high praise for contributing to the revitalization of welfare jobs through the establishment of a public-private network by forming the ‘Eunpyeong Disabled Employment Activation Council’ (hereinafter referred to as the Eunjanggo Council), a disabled education-welfare-employment linkage service, which is a pledge project of the 8th local government administration.
Through the Disabled Employment Support Project, Eunpyeong-gu currently has 201 disabled individuals participating in welfare service support, cultural arts, and assistant jobs for caregivers of people with developmental disabilities at 76 placement institutions. The district assists disabled students aged 18 and over and disabled job seekers in finding employment.
In addition, customized education is provided to disabled individuals with talents in art, music, narration, and sports, linking them to welfare jobs. This contribution to creating new job connections and corporate-linked employment for disabled jobs was recognized.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “Through the development of various jobs in the Disabled Employment Support Project, we will continue to do our best to create an inclusive welfare city, Eunpyeong, where disabled residents can live independently and together within the local community.”
