Online video service (OTT) Netflix announced on the 1st that it will release 'Sweet Home' Season 2 on December 1st.
'Sweet Home' was released in December 2020 and became the first Korean series to enter Netflix's US Top 10, gaining popularity. Season 2 depicts Hyunsoo and the survivors of Green Home fighting for survival in a new place after leaving Green Home, along with the appearance of other entities and mysterious phenomena.
The residents who had to battle monsters in Season 1 can no longer endure in Green Home and come out into the world. Survivors gathered everywhere form a community living in the destroyed stadium. They face new dangers in this new place, having to fight external monsters as well as their inner desires.
Director Lee Eung-bok consulted with Kim Kan-bi, the author of the original webtoon of the same name, and had in-depth discussions about the hidden settings and expanded worldview of the original work.
Director Lee explained, "This is a full-fledged apocalypse story. While Season 1 dealt with claustrophobic horror in the confined space of Green Home, Season 2 moves out into the open, introducing many new characters and monsters."
Lee Jin-wook said, "We express a worldview that deviates from the original. With the expanded worldview, there are many things to consider," and Lee Si-young said, "Coming out of Green Home opens up an enormously large world. Every character undergoes significant changes."
