Contribution to Logistics Infrastructure Development and Strengthening Corporate Competitiveness
Ulsan City has been selected for the ‘Korea Logistics Award’ in recognition of its contribution to the development of the logistics industry. It is the only local government nationwide to receive this honor.
On the 1st at 10 a.m., Ulsan City announced that it will receive the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the ‘2023 Logistics Day’ ceremony held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in recognition of its efforts to strengthen industrial competitiveness by reducing logistics costs through the establishment of a logistics system.
The ‘Logistics Day Ceremony’ is held annually by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to elevate the status of the logistics industry and boost the pride of logistics workers.
One of Ulsan City’s major achievements is the activation of hydrogen logistics by establishing and operating the country’s first ‘large-capacity hydrogen charging station for freight vehicles’ in April, helping it to become a central city for land logistics and contributing to urban environmental improvement.
For the efficiency and advancement of the logistics industry through the development and supply of eco-friendly smart logistics complexes, Ulsan City is currently developing and operating the ‘Jinjang Logistics Complex’ and the ‘Samnam Logistics Complex,’ and is also promoting the ‘Sangcheon Logistics Complex’ to secure a logistics hub in the western region.
To establish a seamless connected logistics system between logistics hubs, Ulsan City is building the Hamyang?Ulsan Expressway and the Ulsan Outer Ring Expressway to secure smooth transportation routes, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of Ulsan’s industry through a robust logistics system.
In 2023, Ulsan City was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s digital logistics service demonstration project and is promoting the establishment of a freight vehicle eco-driving support system.
Additionally, Ulsan City has enacted the ‘Ulsan Metropolitan City Courier Workers Support Ordinance’ and the ‘Ulsan Metropolitan City Living Logistics Service Industry Promotion and Support Ordinance’ to improve the quality of living logistics services and systematically foster the industry.
An official from Ulsan City stated, “Logistics is the activity of moving goods from the production process to the final consumption point, serving as the artery of the industrial economy, and the establishment of an advanced logistics system is a very important policy.” He added, “Ulsan City will continue to expand logistics facilities to support industrial competitiveness.”
