Gwangjin-gu Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Mobile Advertisements

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has launched a focused crackdown on illegal mobile advertisements (air lights) that cause inconvenience to pedestrians and safety accidents.

The areas targeted for cleanup include ▲district responsibility system areas where pedestrian inconvenience opinions are collected ▲major arterial roads ▲around Gunja Station exits 7 and 8 ▲Konkuk University’s Taste Street ▲Shinseong Market area, among others.

The district has organized six inspection teams in cooperation with the Seoul Outdoor Advertising Association Gwangjin Branch to conduct inspections once a week until November 24. Advertisements that remain uncorrected after the first and second corrective orders will be forcibly removed.

Even after the inspection period, the district plans to continue patrolling not only the targeted cleanup areas but also places that spoil the cityscape in cooperation with local community centers, focusing on follow-up management.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “We will take strict measures against illegal mobile advertisements that threaten residents’ safety and the city’s aesthetics,” adding, “We will do our best to continuously maintain and improve a safe and clean urban landscape.”
