Jungnang-gu 'Donghaeng Center' Capacity Building Training

Enhancing Expertise of 'Donghaeng Center' Responsible for Resident Welfare

Jungnang-gu 'Donghaeng Center' Capacity Building Training

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is making efforts to enhance the expertise of the ‘Donghaeng Center,’ which helps identify vulnerable households in the area.

The ‘Donghaeng Center’ is an activity system jointly carried out by the public and private sectors within the community at the neighborhood (dong) level to improve residents' welfare and health.

First, on the 25th, the district held a ‘Donghaeng Center Welfare Practitioner Capacity Building Training’ attended by about 40 people, including social welfare officers and nursing officers from the neighborhood community service centers. The training was prepared and conducted by six welfare-related departments to enable one-stop welfare consultations at the community centers, focusing on field response and practical work.

The main training topics included ▲integrated welfare consultation ▲public benefits (basic livelihood security, emergency support) ▲discovery of welfare blind spots ▲care and health management projects ▲child abuse, with lectures centered on workflow and key best practices.

On the 26th, a ‘Donghaeng Center Workshop with Residents’ was held for 40 participants, including local residents and welfare officers from the neighborhood community centers. Notably, this workshop, held for the first time with residents this year, was planned to solve welfare issues at the dong level and to activate a thorough discovery system. Participants shared various opinions, including their welfare activities and impressions, fostering communication.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “The ‘Donghaeng Center,’ where the public and private sectors cooperate, plays an important role in identifying vulnerable households around us and improving residents' welfare.” He added, “We will continue to provide practical and field-oriented training so that welfare services with high public satisfaction can be delivered to the residents.”
