Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Dental Association over Alleged Illegal Political Donations by Lawmaker

The police launched a forced investigation after receiving intelligence that the Korean Dental Association had delivered illegal donations to multiple members of the National Assembly.

According to the police on the 30th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul conducted a search and seizure of the Korean Dental Association on the 20th.

Park, the president of the Dental Association, is suspected of embezzling association funds by withdrawing them dozens of times and sending donations to 16 members of the National Assembly under his own and association executives' names (charges of embezzlement in the course of duty and violation of the Political Funds Act).

The police have secured internal documents of the Dental Association, accounting records, computer hard disks, and are currently analyzing them. They plan to summon and investigate related parties as soon as possible.
