"Mobile Korea 2023," an event that shares technology and industry trends in the next-generation network field and presents global policy directions, will be held for five days from the 30th of this month to the 3rd of next month at LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
Marking its 4th edition this year, "Mobile Korea 2023" will host over 300 experts from academia, industry, and research institutions representing 61 organizations and companies from 18 countries. Major governments such as Japan and the European Union (EU), as well as leading domestic and international companies including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Qualcomm, Ericsson, and Nokia, are expected to participate.
The event will analyze the current status of next-generation network technologies, standards, and markets, while engaging in in-depth discussions on network development plans as a core infrastructure in the era of digital intensification.
The opening ceremony of Mobile Korea 2023 will take place on November 1st. Ministerial commendations will be awarded to individuals who have contributed to next-generation network research and development and industrial promotion. Additionally, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to introduce the "6G R&D Project Promotion Strategy," which passed the preliminary feasibility study in August with a budget of 440.7 billion KRW.
The event combines the "Global 5G Event (October 30-31)," hosted annually in rotation by mobile communication organizations from seven countries including Korea, the United States, and Japan to promote next-generation network cooperation; "6G Global (November 1-2)," which discusses global trends in 6G technology and standards and 6G policy directions with domestic and international experts; and the "5G Vertical Summit (November 2-3)," which shares ways to activate 5G convergence services.
