Mobile Korea 2023 Held
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 29th that from the 30th of this month to the 3rd of next month, a five-day event called 'Mobile Korea 2023' will be held at LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with the participation of over 300 experts from industry, academia, and research institutions representing 61 organizations and companies from 18 countries. This is the 4th edition of the event. Major governments such as Japan and the EU, as well as leading domestic and international companies including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Qualcomm, Ericsson, and Nokia, will participate.
At this event, the current status of technologies, standards, and markets for next-generation networks will be analyzed. There will be in-depth discussions on the development plans for networks as core infrastructure in the era of digital intensification. The opening ceremony will be held on the 1st of next month. The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to introduce the '6G R&D Project Promotion Strategy,' which passed the preliminary feasibility study in August this year with a budget of 440.7 billion KRW.
'Mobile Korea 2023' will be conducted through three main sub-events. These include the ‘Global 5G Event,’ which is held annually on a rotating basis by seven countries’ mobile communication organizations from Korea, the U.S., Japan, China, the EU, Brazil, and India to promote cooperation on next-generation networks; ‘6G Global,’ where domestic and international experts discuss global trends in 6G technology and standards as well as 6G policy directions; and the ‘5G Vertical Summit,’ which shares ways to activate 5G convergence services.
