Changwon Special City Strengthens Unity and Cohesion Among Small Business Owners... "One Heart, One Mind"

Small Business Day Ceremony Held at Happo Waterfront Park
Public-Private Communication Including Small Business Support Picket Performance

On the 28th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam successfully held the ‘2023 Changwon Small Business Owners’ Day Ceremony and Unity Festival,’ a communication event among small business owners, at the outdoor performance hall in the central plaza of Happo Waterfront Park.


The event was attended by about 500 people, including Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, local district members of the National Assembly, city and provincial council members, small business owners, and citizens.

Organized by the Changwon Small Business Owners Association, the event consisted of two parts: the first part was the ceremony, and the second part was the Unity Festival.


During the ceremony, commendations were awarded to 16 outstanding small business owners, and to encourage small business owners, a cheering placard performance involving 400 participants was held with slogans such as “Small business owners must thrive for the local economy to thrive.” Following this, the Unity Festival featured various performances and a raffle to promote harmony and communication among small business owners.

Shin Sang-ryul, president of the Changwon Small Business Owners Association, said, “Through today’s event, small business owners who support the local economy despite difficulties had an opportunity to strengthen unity and solidarity.”


Mayor Hong Nam-pyo stated, “Small business owners are the last bastion of the grassroots economy,” and added, “We will do our best to support small business owners, the root of the livelihood economy, and revitalize neighborhood commercial districts.”


Meanwhile, this year the city continues to implement essential support policies for small business owners, including issuing 100 billion won worth of Nubijeon cards, issuing 2 billion won worth of seafood gift certificates, providing 24 billion won in small business development loans, and carrying out facility improvement projects for 536 small business locations with a budget of 1 billion won.
