Gangnam-gu, Special Joint Inspection at Gangnam Station and Apgujeong Rodeo in Preparation for Halloween

Maintaining Order and Dispersing Crowds in Gangnam Station and Apgujeong Rodeo Area, the Most Crowded and Club-Dense Areas from the 27th to 31st

Gangnam-gu, Special Joint Inspection at Gangnam Station and Apgujeong Rodeo in Preparation for Halloween

Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) conducted a joint public-private patrol around Gangnam Station and Apgujeong Rodeo from 7 to 10 p.m. on the 27th in preparation for Halloween.

A total of 284 personnel from Gangnam District Office, Gangnam Police Station, Gangnam Fire Station, Seoul Metro, and Volunteer Fire Brigade focused on inspecting areas around stations and club districts expected to be crowded ahead of the weekend. They identified and addressed street obstructions and hazardous installations that could hinder pedestrian movement, and monitored crowd density through AI video analysis of 10 CCTVs around Gangnam Station, maintaining emergency status according to the level of situation (caution-alert-critical).

The joint inspection will continue for five days until the 31st of this month. Especially on the 27th and 28th, when the crowd is expected to be the largest, and on Halloween day, the 31st, an on-site disaster command bus and situation room will be operated at Gangnam Square Plaza near Gangnam Station to enable rapid response with related agencies in case of emergencies.

Prior to this joint inspection, the district conducted preliminary inspections over three days from the 24th to the 26th by six related departments to prepare for the Halloween crowd. They installed guide signs and logo projectors on main streets in crowded areas and checked sidewalk conditions, illegal street obstructions, illegal parking, and safety of clubs and entertainment facilities.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “We have thoroughly pre-inspected and addressed safety hazards in preparation for Halloween,” and added, “We will continue special inspections without lowering our guard throughout this weekend to thoroughly prevent any safety accidents.”
