Jeon Cheongjo Sends Message to Nam Hyunhee Pretending to Be a Chaebol Father
Former national fencing athlete Nam Hyun-hee reportedly discovered the decisive clue to her remarriage partner Jeon Cheong-jo's lies through a cellphone message. Jeon, who claimed to be a 'third-generation chaebol illegitimate child' and 'from New York, USA,' staged a fabricated act by pretending to be Chairman A, whom he described as his 'chaebol father,' in order to deceive Nam Hyun-hee.
According to a report by Sports Chosun on the 27th, Nam Hyun-hee exchanged several messages with Chairman A while dating Jeon, and she found that the messages sent by Chairman A to her were actually sent from Jeon's second cellphone.
After suspicions about Jeon's history of fraud and other allegations arose, Nam Hyun-hee left the luxury officetel in Jamsil where they had lived together and took the second cellphone to her family home. It was on this phone that she discovered messages from Chairman A.
Amid various suspicions surrounding Jeon, Nam Hyun-hee, who had believed his claims of innocence, realized at that moment that she had been deceived.
Nam Hyun-hee first started exchanging messages with Chairman A on August 25. Beginning with a message stating 'I can't get in touch with my son,' Chairman A, who gradually became more casual in his tone, eventually referred to Nam Hyun-hee as his 'daughter-in-law,' sending multiple text messages such as 'I miss you. Aren't you my first daughter-in-law?', 'When do you plan to get married?', and 'Prepare for the second child in October.'
He also sent messages like 'Are you confident about becoming part of our family? It won't be easy because of people. Cheong-jo is well-known in this field, so professionally it might be reassuring, but our lives are full of hardships,' to which Nam Hyun-hee replied with a lengthy message.
At that time, Nam Hyun-hee responded, 'I am very grateful for the luxurious living environment in my current situation, but since I have never lived like that, I want to say that I did not indulge in that environment while meeting Cheong-jo,' and 'If there are parts I need to learn going forward, I will make efforts as much as the opportunities given so as not to bring shame to the family.'
However, the existence of Chairman A and the messages he sent were all part of Jeon's fabrication. After seeing Jeon's second phone, Nam Hyun-hee realized that Chairman A was a fake character created by Jeon, and the media reported that she shed tears saying, "How can a person do such a thing to another person?"
Nam Hyun-hee also said, "I was not interested in his money. He liked me very much and treated me really well," adding, "I do not desire what is not mine. I have no problems living, and the money I earned from my athletic career was enough."
Jeon is said to have continued to claim his innocence even after Nam Hyun-hee learned the full story of the incident. When Nam Hyun-hee asked, "Why did you do that?" Jeon reportedly denied it, saying, "It wasn't me."
