Lee Hak-su, former mayor of Jeongeup City, Jeollabuk-do, is making every effort to meet key members of the National Assembly to secure the 2024 national budget.
According to the city on the 27th, Mayor Lee visited the National Assembly the previous day and held meetings with Seo Sam-seok, a member of the National Assembly Budget Committee, Eom Tae-young, and other standing committee members to explain the necessity and justification of various projects, actively working to secure the budget.

In particular, while proposing the relocation and construction project of the Yeokjeon Police Substation, a long-awaited project (1.5 billion KRW), he actively explained the necessity of the project to utilize Jeongeup Station Square as a plaza that enhances convenience for citizens and tourists and serves as a place for citizen harmony and gatherings.
He also requested active cooperation to secure national funding for sustainable next-generation growth engine projects, such as the advancement of pet pharmaceutical R&BD projects (20 billion KRW) utilizing Jeongeup’s excellent infrastructure (Advanced Radiation Research Institute, Safety Evaluation Research Institute, etc.) and experts, the future radiation core technology advancement project (34.4 billion KRW), and the establishment of a pet radiation medicine research center project (18 billion KRW).
Mayor Lee stated, “We will focus administrative power on securing the budget necessary for the city’s major pending projects and strive to secure more national budget through cooperation and communication with Jeollabuk-do, local National Assembly members, and influential figures in central government departments.”
