Daegu Bank Hosts 'Pohang CEO Forum'... Professor Jeon Youngsoo of Hanyang University Gives Breakfast Lecture Daegu Bank's 'Pohang CEO Forum' is being held with 150 attendees, including businesspeople from the Pohang area.

At the forum, Professor Jeon Young-soo from Hanyang University Graduate School of International Studies was invited to give a breakfast lecture on the theme of ‘Population Change and Future Opportunities.’

Professor Jeon emphasized, “In an era of rapidly declining population structure, companies need insight to view crises not just as crises but as new growth opportunities in order to survive,” and delivered a lecture on management methods and the qualities managers should possess in a society of significant population decline.

He continued, “In the economic environment brought about by population decline, companies need to actively strive to find the essence of their business by flexibly adapting their business models to changing customer characteristics in order to overcome crises and discover new growth opportunities. It is also necessary to pay attention to new growth industries that future issues, expressed as the 3 不 (inconvenience, anxiety, dissatisfaction), will bring.”

Hwang Byung-woo, President of Daegu Bank, explained the background, saying, “The issue of population decline is a social issue directly linked to regional extinction and the decline of future national competitiveness. I believe it is a matter that CEOs must pay attention to for the future survival of companies located in the region, which is why we held this lecture.” He added, “I hope this meaningful lecture provided a new perspective for CEOs to respond to population decline, and DGB Daegu Bank will continue to work with local companies in the process of finding constructive solutions to social issues.”

DGB Daegu Bank contributes to the mutual development of local companies by regularly holding CEO forums every year in Daegu, Pohang, Gumi, Gyeongsan, and Gimcheon as part of ESG management to discuss regional economic issues and share the latest management information.
