Shilla Duty Free's Unique Liquor Pop-up Store at Incheon International Airport Gains Popularity

Shilla Duty Free opened a pop-up store commemorating the launch of The Balvenie 60 Years on the 19th at Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport, showcasing The Balvenie 60 Years, which was released in only four bottles worldwide at duty-free shops.

As the number of passengers using Incheon Airport increases, the space is gaining popularity as a place where travelers can enjoy unique experiences at the airport. The Balvenie 60 Years is the oldest and rarest whiskey from The Balvenie distillery, released to commemorate the 60th anniversary of The Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart's tenure.

David C. Stewart is a respected malt master who has had the longest career in the history of the Scotch whiskey industry, and The Balvenie 60 Years uses matured whiskey from 1962, the year he joined The Balvenie.

Since July this year, The Balvenie has released only four bottles of The Balvenie 60 Years worldwide at duty-free shops, currently available at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, and Dubai Airport in the United Arab Emirates, and now also at Shilla Duty Free’s Incheon Airport store.

The pop-up store commemorating The Balvenie 60 Years is designed under the concept of "The Story of a Great Journey," allowing visitors to experience the history of The Balvenie and meet the key products created by David Stewart during his 60-year career at The Balvenie.

The pop-up store, operating until January 18 next year, will showcase various whiskeys released exclusively for duty-free worldwide.

A Shilla Duty Free official said, “We have introduced an experiential pop-up store along with the globally rare Balvenie products to offer a special experience to customers using Incheon International Airport,” adding, “We will continue to present differentiated products and services in the future.”
