Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley 'Connecting Bridge' Early Opening on November 9

Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley 'Connecting Bridge' Early Opening on November 9 Pangyo 2nd Technovalley 'Connecting Bridge'

A 399-meter-long, four-lane two-way connecting bridge linking Phase 1 and Phase 2 zones of Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley, currently being developed in Siheung and Geumto-dong, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, will open at midnight on November 9.

Earlier, on the 27th of last month, Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin delivered a strong 'petition' to the project implementer, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), urging the early opening of the connecting bridge to alleviate traffic inconveniences for companies moving into Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley.

Seongnam City proposed to LH that after conducting a joint inspection of the connecting bridge section, if no major defects are found, the bridge should be opened ahead of the completion of Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley in November.

Accordingly, LH accepted Seongnam City's proposal and conducted two joint inspections on the connecting bridge among the facilities subject to the joint inspection of Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley.

This opening of the connecting bridge marks the end of a 5-year and 4-month project by LH to build a cross-bridge over the Gyeongbu Expressway, which divides Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley into Phase 1 and Phase 2 zones, to facilitate smooth communication between the two zones.

A Seongnam City official stated, "With LH's prompt decision following Seongnam City's proposal, the early opening of the connecting bridge on November 9 is expected to significantly alleviate traffic inconveniences for those entering Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley."

Furthermore, the official added, "After the opening of the connecting bridge, all 83 buses across 9 routes currently operating in Zone 1 of Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley will be extended to Zone 2 as a priority to improve public transportation conditions for residents. Depending on occupancy, additional increases and expansions will be operated starting next year."
