This campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Environment in February, aims to protect the environment by reducing the use of single-use products and increasing the use of reusable products in daily life. Participants post photos or videos on social networking services (SNS) signifying "I do not use single-use products" and nominate the next participants.

SK Materials practices reducing single-use product consumption in daily life by using reusable containers, refillable containers, mugs, tumblers, and shopping bags, promoting carbon reduction management. Last year, through activities such as walking, cycling, using stairs, and recycling used phones, the company reduced carbon emissions by 114,000 kg (an average of 9,500 kg per month).

This year, by holding a carbon reduction championship event, the average monthly carbon reduction increased by 54% compared to the previous year, reaching 14,700 kg (a cumulative total of 132,500 kg as of the end of September).

CEO Lee said, "Reducing single-use product consumption and carbon reduction activities are important efforts for the planet," adding, "We will continue to lead the way in creating a clean Earth through active ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management with our members."

He recommended SK Siltron President Jang Yong-ho and Decant CEO Kim Sang-wook as the next participants in the challenge. Decant is a beauty brand that manufactures eco-friendly cosmetics using discarded wine byproducts as raw materials. In 2022, SK Materials selected Decant as a social venture for the 'STAXX' project, which revitalizes the economy of cities facing depopulation through youth entrepreneurship.
