Lotte Hotel & Resort to Launch Gatpa Kimchi on the 28th

Lotte Hotel & Resort announced on the 27th that it will launch Gatpakimchi, a follow-up product combining freshly pickled mustard greens (Gatkimchi) and green onion kimchi (Pakimchi), two months after releasing its Baechu Kimchi in August.

Lotte Hotel & Resort to Launch Gatpa Kimchi on the 28th

Gatpakimchi is made with fresh, seasonal domestic mustard greens and green onions, enhanced with Lotte Hotel's special broth, fish sauce, and shrimp. The sharp umami flavor and the crisp yet soft texture of the ingredients blend harmoniously in a rich taste, maximizing the enjoyment of both types of kimchi.

Gatkimchi contains high amounts of antioxidants such as ascorbic acid and carotenoids, which are known to help prevent oxidation and aging in the human body. It is also well known for being rich in folic acid, which is beneficial for preventing stroke and anemia. Recently, probiotics that improve symptoms of atopic dermatitis have been discovered in Gatkimchi, drawing renewed attention from consumers in families with newborns and young children.

The unique aroma components of Pakimchi, made from green onions harvested in the autumn season, stimulate the secretion of digestive juices and aid bowel activity with its abundant dietary fiber. Numerous studies have reported that long-term consumption is effective in preventing hyperlipidemia and diabetes, further proving the benefits of Pakimchi.

Gatpakimchi will be unveiled for the first time on the 28th at 10 a.m. during the Choi Yura Show on Lotte Homeshopping. During the broadcast, ▲Gatpakimchi (4kg) ▲Baechu Kimchi (5kg) + Gatpakimchi (2kg) will be available for purchase. The Baechu Kimchi sold twice on Lotte Homeshopping in August and September was sold out within 15 minutes of the broadcast.

Starting early next month, online sales will also begin through Lotte Hotel & Resort’s e-Shop, Lotte ON, and Kakao Makers. Gatpakimchi is priced at 71,900 KRW for 4kg.

Kim Song-gi, the head chef and one of Korea’s top 11 culinary masters, said, “This year, due to abnormal weather and soaring ingredient costs, consumers who felt burdened by making kimchi at home are turning to purchasing kimchi. Following the Baechu Kimchi, which recorded sales exceeding 700 million KRW within a month of its launch, we expect Gatpakimchi, which is gaining attention in a niche market, to achieve good results as well.”
