Gyeonggi Province will hold the ‘Gyeonggi Startup Week,’ a networking event for promising startups, large and medium-sized enterprises, investors, and accelerator organizations within the startup ecosystem, from the 30th of this month to the 2nd of next month at the Pangyo Startup Campus.
Gyeonggi Startup Week will be held as a large-scale conference integrating various startup programs such as technology seminars, investor relations (IR) presentations, and startup competitions, in line with the vision of ‘Startup Heaven of Korea’ proclaimed by Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province on the 12th.
Under the theme ‘From Startup to Unicorn in Pangyo,’ this event will discover competitive and outstanding startups in the province, provide investment consultation opportunities with investors, and offer expert lectures and technology seminars.
At the opening ceremony on the 30th, Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeonggi Province, will attend to share the vision of the 8th Gyeonggi Provincial Government for creating the ‘Startup Heaven of Korea.’
Keynote speakers include ▲ Kim Jin-hyung, KAIST Emeritus Professor (AI Capabilities and Limitations), ▲ Cho Sung-joon, Seoul National University Professor (The World Created by Big Data), and ▲ Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of startup FortyTwoMaru (Future Industry Trends Changed by Explainable AI Technology).
Additionally, at the Startup Talk Concert, AI experts such as Yoo Young-man, Hanyang University Professor, Cho Myung-hyun, CEO of SemiFive, and Kim Yong-woo, CEO of MindLogic, will give mini-lectures and hold Q&A sessions on ‘Technology and Human Life.’
During the event, exhibition and demonstration booths of startups with excellent technologies in artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and beauty and bio sectors will be operated. Furthermore, expert mentoring related to regulatory sandbox, credit guarantee fund startup financial consultations, and special lectures on government support projects for ventures and startups will be provided.
Kim Pyeong-won, Head of the Venture Startup Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "In the ongoing global economic and stock market downturn, we expect this event to be a great support for startups in the province to overcome crises and take a leap forward."
