The main content of this social contribution activity was to provide 33 students from Yongsan Railroad High School with career education and job experience opportunities in the railroad field by visiting places such as the University of Transportation, Railroad Museum, and Railroad Technology Research Institute located in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The students participated in programs including railroad system education, driving simulator practice, railroad artifact tours and railroad job experiences, and visits to railroad research facilities during the tour.
The railroad career education and experience program was planned and conducted based on the idea of the University of Transportation team, which won the grand prize in the ‘University Student Social Contribution Idea Contest’ hosted by Korea Railroad.
Additionally, students from the University of Transportation participated as supporters, taking charge of project planning and operation, and also served as mentors on the day of the event.
Meanwhile, Korea Railroad practices ESG management by annually implementing community win-win social contribution activities such as the ‘Happy Train’ train trip for underprivileged neighbors and the housing environment improvement project ‘Tomorrow (Rail) House.’
