Wider Planet Co., Ltd. Wider Planet and Obigo Co., Ltd. Obigo announced on the 25th that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote the development of customized advertising services for vehicles.
Wider Planet has decided to establish a mutual cooperation and partnership with Obigo for built-in advertising services installed within vehicles.
According to the ‘Automotive Report 2022-2026’ by Insider Intelligence, a research company specializing in digital media and technology industries, the global in-vehicle advertising service market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25%, reaching 1.2 billion USD by 2026.
Interest in this related industry is already increasing overseas, and it is expected to grow rapidly domestically as well, supported by the expansion of the infotainment market.
Under this agreement, the two companies will cooperate in ▲developing vehicle advertising service platforms and supporting commercialization domestically and internationally ▲recruiting advertisers for vehicle advertising ▲developing and mass-producing vehicle services combining Wider Planet’s and Obigo’s technologies ▲manufacturer promotions for the services ▲and joint marketing activities.
Goo Kyo-sik, CEO of Wider Planet, said, "The convergence of Wider Planet’s big data and AI-based advertising platform technology with Obigo’s connected car platform service will completely change the way vehicle advertising is recognized. This will not only open up exciting possibilities for advertisers but also provide Wider Planet with opportunities to expand globally."
CEO Goo added, "We are currently discussing providing Wider Planet’s AI prediction model platform and big data platform as PaaS (Platform as a Service) to be embedded within key partners in various industries such as e-commerce, content, and healthcare, following the same platform partnership model, and we plan to further expand this."
Hwang Do-yeon, CEO of Obigo, stated, "We will develop various location-based vehicle advertising services by combining Wider Planet’s AI-based advertising platform with Obigo’s connected car platform to pioneer new mobility service markets both domestically and internationally." He also mentioned, "We will continue to strengthen partnerships with various companies and enhance technological and business capabilities to expand the application of mobility services through in-vehicle advertising services."
Wider Planet, established in 2010, operates a programmatic advertising service business that analyzes digital users’ preferences and interests through big data to recommend and deliver the most suitable personalized marketing and advertising content. It was listed on the KOSDAQ market in 2021 through a technology special listing. Currently, it provides services through a platform called TargetingGates™.
Obigo recently launched a proprietary AAOS-exclusive vehicle app store to secure domestic and international vehicle content services and is promoting cooperation with service providers in news, music, healing, fortune-telling, and other areas to provide personalized services in vehicles. Additionally, it is recruiting partners to expand essential vehicle services such as advertising, charging, in-car payment, parking, insurance, and vehicle management.
