2019 Han Seohee and Same-Sex Relationship
Currently Under Investigation While Detained
Actor Lee Seon-gyun (48), who is suspected of drug use, has been criminally booked and his status has changed to that of a suspect. Meanwhile, broadcaster-turned-composer Jung Da-eun (31, renamed Lee Tae-gyun) is also under investigation prior to formal booking.
According to the legal community and police on the 24th, the Drug Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency is conducting a preliminary investigation into Jung Da-eun on suspicion of drug use. A preliminary investigation is a procedure to determine whether a formal investigation is warranted.
Last month, during the process of verifying a tip from an informant that "drugs are being distributed at entertainment establishments in Gangnam, Seoul," the police secured clues related not only to actor Lee but also to Jung Da-eun. However, Jung's name was only mentioned in the tip, and no concrete evidence of drug use has yet emerged.
Jung Da-eun first gained public attention in 2009 by appearing on a variety show and was noted for her resemblance to a famous movie star.
She was sentenced to prison for drug use in 2016 and 2021 and served time in prison. It is understood that she is currently under police investigation while being re-arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine use.
Additionally, Han Seo-hee, who became known in 2018 for being caught smoking marijuana with Big Bang’s T.O.P, and who gained fame in 2019 for a same-sex relationship, is also involved.
Han Seo-hee has a history of multiple instances of smoking or using marijuana and methamphetamine, and she was sentenced to six months in prison in March and is currently serving her sentence. The police plan to first verify the charges against actor Lee, whose status was changed to suspect the day before, and then sequentially investigate the suspicions surrounding the other five individuals under preliminary investigation, including Jung Da-eun and Hwang Hana.
To this end, a drug test will be conducted on Lee to identify the types of drugs and the number of times used.
Earlier, the Drug Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency criminally booked Lee Seon-gyun the day before on charges related to marijuana under the Narcotics Control Act.
The police also arrested B (29, female), an employee at a Gangnam entertainment establishment, on the same charges and booked another employee C (female, in her 20s) without detention. Lee and the two female employees are suspected of using narcotics at entertainment venues in Gangnam, Seoul, from January until recently.
The police are particularly expanding the investigation with the possibility that actor Lee used two other types of drugs in addition to marijuana.
A police official said, "We cannot disclose specific details, but there is some evidence to prove the charges, which is why Lee was booked. We will conduct investigations related to the individuals under preliminary investigation simultaneously and summon Lee as soon as possible to confirm the charges."
