'The Peak Dosan' DL Construction Selected as Final Contractor

- Herzog & de Meuron's First Residential Project in Asia
- Total of 26 Units, Official Contracts Begin Mid-October

'The Peak Dosan' DL Construction Selected as Final Contractor [THE PEAK DOSAN]

'The Peak Dosan' is the first residential project in Asia by the world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, with DL Construction finalized as the main contractor, accelerating the project's progress.

Developer AlpsD recently signed a business agreement with DL Construction for The Peak Dosan project. Industry experts evaluate that this project aligns well with the concept of 'the art of living' that The Peak Dosan aims to achieve. Prior successful pre-marketing activities, including operating a private gallery and collaborating with Michelin-starred chefs, contributed to the smooth selection of the contractor.

DL Construction, selected as the main contractor, has delivered landmarks across major regions nationwide, including high-end residential products such as Lucia Dosan 208 and Layer Cheongdam, as well as Jeju Parnas Hotel. DL Construction also has experience completing luxury buildings in Korea, including Grand Josun Hotel, Sheraton Gangnam Hotel, Glad Yeouido Hotel, and Maison de Glad.

To reduce risks such as design changes and project delays caused by the separation of design and construction entities, DL Construction plans to apply the IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) method based on its experience in design, construction, maintenance, and operation, enabling customized architecture and ensuring the highest construction quality. Additionally, during the pre-construction phase, DL Construction will support the development process, including building permits, various safety evaluations, and project financing (PF).

Meanwhile, The Peak Dosan is planned to be developed in the Eonju-ro area of Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with 5 basement floors and 20 above-ground floors, totaling 26 units. Designed uniquely by Herzog & de Meuron, it will be a hyper-end residential complex unlike any other, introducing differentiated spatial design with the goal of pioneering the art of living in Korea. The Posco Gallery currently located on the project site is being demolished, and official contracts are scheduled to begin in mid-October.

The Peak Dosan is designed with the concept of a Stacked House, maximizing the horizontal and vertical living experience. This allows for spaces that fully accommodate residents rather than monotonous, mass-produced floor plans. It is a new type of architecture designed from Herzog & de Meuron’s innovative idea of stacking units resembling detached houses vertically within the city. Accordingly, residents can enjoy the experience of a detached house environment with a yard and entrance, along with urban views.

A project official stated, “Through collaboration with world-class architects, we are conducting a ‘hyper-end residential project’ that goes beyond high-end, attracting steady interest not only from traditional wealthy classes but also from young asset owners. With the selection of a major domestic construction company, we aim to present a landmark representing not only Korea but Asia as well.”

Currently, The Peak Dosan operates a private gallery located right in front of Dosan Park, where visitors can directly experience the lifestyle combining the views and tranquil rest that residents of The Peak Dosan will enjoy. Beyond simply providing product information, the space is designed to offer experiences and encounters with content from various top artists in fields rarely accessible to the public.
