MedithinkQ Signs Business Agreement with UK Portsmouth University Hospital for "Medical Wearable Business Cooperation"

Medical wearable specialist company Medithink is teaming up with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) in the UK to target the European medical wearable market.

On the 24th, Medithink announced that it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with PHU to activate the medical wearable display business 'SCOPEYE' in the UK.

Through this agreement, Medithink and PHU plan to collaborate on clinical trials, product supply, and sales of SCOPEYE in the field of robotic surgery in the UK. Medithink will provide product supply, maintenance, and online and offline training for SCOPEYE. PHU will focus on introducing and promoting SCOPEYE to major hospitals and doctors in the UK and Europe, as well as developing sales channels.

SCOPEYE is a medical AR display solution that allows medical staff to view vivid medical images right before their eyes by connecting to existing display equipment without installing separate software. Medical professionals can see vivid images comfortably without turning their heads, which shortens procedure and surgery times and improves patient satisfaction.

A Medithink representative said, "This MOU was pursued to expand the medical wearable business through clinical trials and product supply in the UK, a leading country in medical advancement. We plan to secure a local sales base in the UK through cooperation with PHU and have set a goal to sell at least 100 sets of SCOPEYE and related peripheral devices in the first year of business."

Dr. Jim Khan of Portsmouth Hospitals University said, "Through cooperation with Medithink, we have encountered an innovative medical environment never before experienced in the medical field. We aim to develop SCOPEYE into a world-class solution by leveraging the diverse capabilities of Portsmouth Hospitals University, which will be valuable for both doctors and patients."

Dr. Jim Khan is a colorectal surgeon with a global reputation in the field of Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS) robotics. He began his career in 2002 at the Royal Infirmary of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, and completed a clinical fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA. He also provides various international training courses.

Meanwhile, in April, Medithink won the Gold Award in the Health, Medical & Biotech category at the prestigious 2023 Edison Awards in the United States. Last year, SCOPEYE, developed by Medithink, won first place among 323 competing companies in the Medtronic Asia-Pacific Innovation Challenge hosted by global medical device leader Medtronic.

Based on its high technological capabilities, Medithink has been recognized for product excellence in the global market and has succeeded in laying the foundation for commercialization of wearable medical products and generating high sales. The company plans to expand the wearable medical market by collaborating with global hospitals and companies.
