Dongjak-gu Removes Utility Pole Causing Traffic Inconvenience Again

Safe Relocation of Utility Poles in Sadang-dong Residential Area (Sadang-ro 9ga-gil 32), 6 Poles Relocated This Year

Dongjak-gu Removes Utility Pole Causing Traffic Inconvenience Again Current Appearance After Utility Pole Maintenance

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has completed relocating a utility pole that was causing traffic inconvenience in the middle of the road in a residential area of Sadang-dong (in front of 32 Sadang-ro 9ga-gil).

The utility pole that was recently maintained remained on the building setback line, causing ongoing inconvenience to nearby residents in both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Since the 8th local government administration, the district has conducted a full survey of utility poles causing traffic inconvenience within the jurisdiction, and after technical reviews by related organizations such as KT and gathering residents' opinions, proceeded with the relocation.

Additionally, maintenance of surrounding aerial cables was carried out simultaneously, which is expected to contribute not only to pedestrian safety but also to the improvement of the urban landscape.

The district plans to continuously promote maintenance projects for utility poles causing traffic inconvenience to gradually resolve residents' discomfort.

This year, the district has relocated six utility poles and aims to maintain a total of ten utility poles by the end of the year.

Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu is actively visiting various local sites to promptly address residents' inconveniences.

Recently, facilities such as Haedanghwa Children's Park and Kkachisan Village Park have been maintained, and the Sadang 5-dong pedestrian overpass is scheduled to open soon (end of October) to alleviate pedestrian inconvenience.

Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “We are making efforts to resolve various daily inconveniences of residents through utility pole relocation and other measures,” adding, “We will continue to listen to voices from the field and actively work to solve issues.”
