The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has reportedly conducted risk assessments to identify and eliminate hazards in educational settings, achieving about 80% completion.
On the 24th, the Office announced that it has completed approximately 80% of the risk assessments targeting affiliated educational institutions such as direct agencies, education support offices, training centers, and schools within the province, including the Office itself, by investing a budget of 4.2 billion KRW this year.
Risk assessment is a process mandated by the "Serious Accidents Punishment Act and its Enforcement Decree," where workers who best understand the harmful and dangerous factors at the workplace identify hazardous or risky elements themselves and work to eliminate or reduce these risks to prevent serious industrial accidents in advance.
The risk assessment procedure includes ▲preparatory steps such as data collection ▲identification of harmful and dangerous factors through on-site inspections ▲determination of risk acceptability ▲establishment and implementation of risk reduction measures ▲and documentation and preservation.
Ha Deok-ho, head of the School Safety Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will strive to prevent serious industrial accidents through risk assessments in educational settings and to create a safe and healthy working environment."
