On the 24th at 2 PM, 'Popera Integrity Concert' for about 500 employees held at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall... Unique integrity education combining 'talk' and 'cultural performance' beyond rigid knowledge lectures
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) will hold a 'Popera Integrity Concert' at 2 p.m. on the 24th at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall for about 500 employees to build a consensus on integrity.
The district conveys the value and meaning of integrity that public officials should uphold not through one-sided knowledge lectures but through an emotional lecture combining 'Integrity Talk' and 'cultural performances,' adding fun and healing to the potentially rigid concept of 'integrity.'
First launched last year, the 'Popera Integrity Concert' delivered the somewhat heavy topic of integrity in an easy and enjoyable way, receiving great responses as a performance that embraces employees of all ages.
The 'Popera Integrity Concert' consists of anti-corruption integrity education, integrity talks, and performances. A professional instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission analyzes the district's integrity trends over the past three years and freely communicates with employees about ways to improve integrity. 'Prevention of power abuse' education is also conducted to foster a considerate and respectful organizational culture.
Following this, District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon participates to share his thoughts on integrity and a healthy organizational culture, followed by an 'Integrity Talk' that reflects on the meaning of the 'attitude of public officials' that district employees should have.
Finally, between the integrity education and talks, a popera performance delivering messages of 'integrity' is held to further enhance the educational atmosphere. By performing famous musical songs, opera arias, and popular songs, the concert allows participants to feel 'integrity' with their hearts rather than just understand it intellectually.
The district implements various integrity policies such as anti-corruption capability self-assessment, online integrity pledge signing, reading integrity books, and power abuse self-assessment to spread integrity awareness and create a fair organizational culture. These efforts led to favorable results in the '2022 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “Integrity is a fundamental virtue for public officials. Through this Popera Integrity Concert, I hope all employees will reflect on the value of integrity and work together with one heart to foster an honest public service culture.” He added, “We will continue to communicate with employees and discover various integrity policies to ensure that Yeongdeungpo-gu public officials become a model of integrity.”
