Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST, President Yang Guk) will hold the ‘DGIF 2023 (DGIST Global Innovation Festival 2023)’ at DGIST on the 24th.
DGIF is an academic conference held annually by DGIST, and this year marks the 11th event.
This year’s DGIF 2023, under the theme ‘Tomorrow Made with Batteries and Future Energy, Together with DGIST,’ plans to host over 1,000 participants including researchers and businesspeople from industry, academia, and research institutes. The event will feature an academic conference, exhibition and recruitment consultation booths, and infrastructure tours.
The academic conference will be divided into keynote speeches and sessions by divisions. ‘Keynote Speech 1’ will be delivered by Shin Young-jun, Vice President of LG Energy Solution (CEO Kwon Young-soo), who will analyze the global status of the rapidly growing battery sector driven by electric vehicles and discuss future strategies under the theme ‘LG Energy Solution and Battery Research.’
‘Keynote Speech 2’ will be presented by Kim Jin-hyuk, President of the Korean Photovoltaic Society and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Chonnam National University, on the topic ‘Latest Trends in the Solar Power Industry and Technology Development for Carbon Neutrality,’ covering global policies, research and technology development status, and future strategies for future energy.
In addition, academic presentations will be held in the battery division (theme: The Present and Future of Battery Technology) and the future energy division (theme: Future Energy for Carbon Neutrality). Exhibitions of research achievements in battery and future energy fields by DGIST and CISOLID (CEO Kim Han-jun), recruitment booths (Enchem, L&F), DGIST infrastructure tours, and other events will also take place.
DGIST President Yang Guk said, “Through DGIF 2023, we hope that experts from industry, academia, and research institutes will establish a cooperative system in the battery and future energy industries, laying the foundation to lead the global market.”
