Building a New Education Platform
Optimized for Educational Environments
Utilizing 'Whalebook' Devices
Naver Cloud has signed a business agreement with the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education to collaborate on the development of an educational platform based on Whale Space.
The Jeollabuk-do Office of Education has been utilizing Naver Cloud's Whale Space since May of last year to create a future-oriented learning environment. Whale Space is a web-based open platform. It is characterized by allowing educational sites to freely configure ▲browser interfaces ▲learning solutions to provide customized learning environments for students. Additionally, the rights to educational data generated within Whale Space are granted to the respective educational sites.
Through this agreement, the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education plans to optimize Whale Space to fit the Jeollabuk-do educational environment and build a new educational platform. In domestic educational sites, cases of operating independent educational platforms based on Whale Space are increasing. Representative examples include ▲Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education's 'iTalkTalk' ▲Jeollanam-do Office of Education's 'Jeonnam Meta School' ▲Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education's 'Majuon'.
Naver Cloud will support the stable development and operation of the Jeollabuk-do type educational platform based on Whale Space. Furthermore, it will assist the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education in advancing the educational platform using 'HyperCLOVA X' and in conceptualizing various future-oriented educational cases.
Additionally, both parties plan to accelerate the creation of future-oriented classroom environments by utilizing the device 'Whalebook,' which synergizes with Whale Space. To enhance the usability of Whalebook in classes, the two organizations will promote digital education competency training and briefing sessions for teachers. The Jeollabuk-do Office of Education has announced plans to distribute approximately 18,200 Whalebooks to 6th-grade elementary students and special schools within the year.
Kim Hyo, Director at Naver Cloud, stated, "Whale continuously advances its web platform technology so that educational sites can independently create future-oriented edutech ecosystems within Whale Space," adding, "We will continue to cooperate so that students in Jeollabuk-do can grow in a smart educational environment."
