Energetic Vitality Like Shrimp!... The 16th Mapo-gu Mayor's Gymnastics Competition Held

The 16th Mapo District Mayor's Gymnastics Competition opened the first event on the morning of the 22nd, the last day of the 'Mapo Naru Salted Shrimp Festival.'

Organized by the Mapo District Sports Council (President Lee Won-beom) for general adults, this gymnastics competition was held on a special stage at the Peace Plaza in World Cup Park, with about 350 gymnasts from 17 gymnastics clubs participating.

The competition began with a vigorous pre-event performance to awaken the autumn morning, followed by the return of the championship flag from last year's winning team, a commendation from Mapo District Mayor Park Kang-soo to meritorious participants, and the athletes' oath, before the main competition officially started.

In his encouragement speech, Mayor Park Kang-soo said, "The four main goals of daily gymnastics are fun, health, basics, and friendship, which are no different from the goals of our lives." He added, "I hope many people will make good use of the five daily gymnastics classes operated by Mapo District for the enjoyable lives of its residents, and I hope you will showcase the wonderful skills you have honed at the gymnastics competition that opened during today's Salted Shrimp Festival."
