Minji Lee 'Consecutive Victory'... "10th Career Win"

Allison Lee Defeats Rivals at BMW Ladies Championship
Second Win of the Season... Cheers for $330,000 Prize Money
Lydia Ko 3rd, Jeongeun Lee6 and Shin Ji-ae Tied for 5th

Minji Lee (Australia) reached double-digit career wins.


On the 22nd, at the Seowon Hills Course of Seowon Valley CC in Paju, Gyeonggi Province (Par 72, 6,647 yards), Minji Lee finished the 4th round of the LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship (total prize money $2.2 million) with a 4-under-par score. Although she was tied with Allison Lee (USA) at 16-under-par 272 strokes, she secured the victory birdie on the first hole of the playoff resumed at the 18th hole (Par 4). This marked her second win of the season and her 10th career victory, two months after the Kroger Queen City Championship last September. The winner's prize money was $330,000 (approximately 450 million KRW).

Minji Lee started tied for the lead by one stroke and made five birdies (one bogey). After consecutive birdies on the 4th and 5th holes, she took a brief breather with a bogey on the 9th hole (Par 4). In the back nine, she maintained her position at the top of the leaderboard by making birdies on the 10th hole (Par 4) and 'stepping stone birdies' on the 13th and 15th holes. On the first playoff hole, her second shot landed close to the hole, deciding the match.


Allison Lee performed well, lowering her score by five strokes, but was satisfied with her personal best runner-up finish. Defending champion Lydia Ko (New Zealand) ended her bid for a second consecutive win in 3rd place (14-under-par 274 strokes). Last week's Buick LPGA Shanghai winner Angel Yin (USA) finished 4th (13-under-par 275 strokes), and three-time champion C?line Boutier (France) tied for 5th (12-under-par 276 strokes). World No. 4 Nelly Korda tied for 16th (9-under-par 279 strokes), and No. 1 Lilia Vu (both USA) finished tied for 48th (3-under-par 285 strokes).


Korea's Jeongeun Lee6 recorded one eagle and four birdies (one bogey), achieving her best personal result this year by tying for 5th place. Jiyai Shin also tied for 5th, Jieun Shin tied for 10th (11-under-par 277 strokes), and amateur Seojin Park tied for 13th (10-under-par 278 strokes) performed well. Hyojoo Kim, Haeran Yoo, Sunghyun Park, and Heeyoung Park tied for 16th, Hyejin Choi tied for 28th (7-under-par 281 strokes), and world No. 3 Jiyoung Ko finished tied for 48th.
