[One Day Walk] "Media Tour"... Line 6 Digital Media City Station

The subway course introduced this time is Line 6 Digital Media City (DMC) Station located in Sangam, Seoul’s media-specialized district. You can enjoy and view various media contents while walking.

First, exit from Exit 9 of Line 6 DMC Station and walk about 600 meters to reach the DMC Promotion Center. The DMC Promotion Center was established in 2002 to comprehensively guide the digital media business. It consists of a promotional exhibition hall, a 3D stereoscopic theater, an experience space, and the 1st and 2nd exhibition halls for cultural and artistic works. The 1st exhibition hall is also rented free of charge to emerging artists and others. Concerts for residents and tourists are held on a temporary stage in front of the DMC Promotion Center according to the schedule, so it’s good to visit according to the schedule.

Walking about 200 meters from the DMC Promotion Center leads to Nurikum Square, a broadcasting business center. It boasts the largest scale among buildings located in DMC. Inside the center, there are special studios for filming movies, dramas, commercials, and editing facilities equipped with advanced equipment. The Digital Pavilion, an IT exhibition hall, has been reborn as a complex exhibition hall connecting IT products, technology, and daily life. Various experience programs such as IT robots are also operated. The visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Sundays, so visitors should be mindful of the visiting time.

The next destination is the Korean Film Museum. Walking 50 meters from Nurikum Square toward Sangamsan-ro leads to the Korean Film Museum. It is operated by the Korean Film Archive, a national institution preserving video materials. The permanent exhibition, which allows visitors to overview Korean film history by era, attracts film enthusiasts continuously.

The last place to visit is Mulbit Culture Park. It is a small park visible after walking about 500 meters toward the DMC Station direction. The park is impressive with Metasequoia, Zelkova trees, and Japanese Skimmia. After taking a short rest, returning to the starting point, DMC Station, concludes today’s subway course.
