Amendment and Implementation of Operating Regulations on the 23rd
The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 22nd that it will revise and promulgate the 'National Tomorrow Learning Card Operation Regulations,' which include expanding vocational training to advanced new technology fields such as new materials and secondary batteries, and providing more training opportunities to vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities and youth preparing for independence, effective from the 23rd.
The advanced new technology fields being expanded this time include ▲new material development and manufacturing ▲eco-friendly and high-performance paint coating ▲biopharmaceutical production and quality control ▲display production and quality control ▲secondary battery production and quality control, which are areas with rapidly increasing labor demand. Training in these national strategic industry occupations will be available free of charge.
Opportunities for vocational training for vulnerable groups have also been expanded. Vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, single-parent families, youth preparing for independence, North Korean defectors, Afghan special contributors, and those scheduled for release will receive an additional 2 million KRW support if they have exhausted the 3 million KRW account limit of the National Tomorrow Learning Card.
Additionally, the scope of attendance recognition for trainees using the National Tomorrow Learning Card who are unavoidably absent during training has been expanded, and the criteria for dismissal have been rationalized to improve the system.
Kwon Tae-sung, Director of the Vocational Competency Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, said, "Through this revision of the operation regulations, we will expand training in advanced new technology fields to resolve the shortage of technical personnel in advanced new industries and increase employment opportunities for youth. At the same time, in line with the government's policy of protecting the vulnerable, we will continue to expand vocational training opportunities for vulnerable groups."
