On the 20th, Woori Financial Group took a commemorative photo after the pledge ceremony with Chairman Lim Jong-ryong and representatives of affiliated companies at the Woori Financial Holdings headquarters.
Woori Financial Group announced on the 22nd that it held an 'Ethical Code Compliance Pledge Ceremony' attended by Chairman Lim Jong-ryong and CEOs of all its affiliates.
The Ethical Code Compliance Pledge Ceremony was an occasion where Chairman Lim and the CEOs of Woori Financial pledged internally and externally to practice proper ethical codes and behavioral standards in accordance with the Group's ethical code guidelines, thereby strengthening the effectiveness of internal controls and establishing these as part of the organizational culture.
The newly established Group Ethical Code Guidelines provide specific behavioral standards to help organizational members understand and act according to the ethical level set by Woori Financial. A notable feature is that ethical issues are explained in an easy-to-understand manner using cases and examples so that employees can easily grasp them.
Chairman Lim stated, “We have selected the establishment of ethical management as an important task and have continuously worked on redefining the ethical codes and behavioral standards that executives and employees must comply with,” adding, “The ethical code guidelines will serve as a criterion for judging right and wrong during work processes.” He further urged, “Learning from past financial accidents that held us back, I ask the CEOs to take the lead in completing a culture of ethical management.”
Woori Financial plans to distribute the Group Ethical Code Guidelines to executives and employees in booklet and electronic document formats, and to intensively disseminate them through job training and employee meetings to build a consensus on proper ethical awareness.
