Experience the Pungnyu and Flavors of Damyang, the Nation's First Regional Do-ga Festival
On the 21st, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the 2023 Damyang Dami(味)-Damju(酒) Festival under the slogan "Delicious Damyang, a Glass of Elegance" from 2 PM to 9 PM on the 28th at the Damju Damidam Arts District.
This event was planned to revitalize the commercial district by utilizing local resources with residents, tourists, and merchants gathering around the Damju Damidam Arts District.
In particular, as the nation’s first local liquor festival, this event features participation from the five major local breweries (Damju Brauerei, Achim Isul Vineyard, Jukhyang Doga, Chuseong Goeul, Hasimdang), offering tasting events and reasonably priced dishes at 9,900 KRW made with local agricultural and specialty products so visitors can experience the delicious flavors of Damyang.
Additionally, a flea market selling excellent local crafts and agricultural specialty products, along with various exhibitions and hands-on events, have been prepared.
If you apply in advance through the Damyang-gun website by 4 PM on the 27th, you will receive an eco-friendly glass and a bamboo soju cup from Damyang, and you will also have a chance to win a traditional liquor set filled with the charm and taste of Damyang through a random drawing. On-site applications are also possible.
County Governor Lee Byung-no said, "I hope this event will contribute to revitalizing the stagnant local commercial district and provide a happy autumn memory not only for residents and merchants but for everyone visiting Damyang," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create a happy, self-reliant economic city together."
