UNIST faculty startup company CoreDotToday held a special exhibition on contemporary art experience at the Ulsan International Art Fair, which opens on the 19th.
In this special experience exhibition, ‘Human vs Artificial Intelligence (AI) Debate’ and ‘AI Perfumer Centria’ are showcased. Visitors can view them from the 19th to the 22nd at booths C10 and D08 in the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center (UECO).
In the Human vs AI debate, ‘Kim Keomjae’ and ‘Lee Jinju’ engage in a discussion with contemporary artist Park Seongdeok.
Kim Keomjae and Lee Jinju are virtual humans developed by CoreDotToday’s own Ulsan.AI. The debate interprets the meaning of artworks from the perspectives of humans and AI, presenting visitors with new topics on art.
At the AI Perfumer Centria, visitors can experience creating ‘a personalized perfume suitable for the art fair.’
Based on the artworks selected by visitors, AI infers their preferences, and perfumer Kim Min-kyung combines scents according to the AI’s recipe to create the perfume. Additionally, art fair participants can enjoy the artworks along with the scents by following the AI-generated viewing route map.
Kim Kyunghoon, CEO of CoreDotToday, said, “Through this event that breaks down the boundaries between AI and art, we aim to show how technology can contribute to art.”
He added, “As William Gibson said, ‘The future is already here ? it’s just not evenly distributed.’ We hope to bring the future art world into the present and share it with the audience at this art fair.”
