Agreement on Operating Exchange Student Programs and Others
Samyook University (President Kim Ilmok) has signed international exchange agreements (MOU) with universities in Western Europe, including the UK, Italy, and Spain, focusing on dispatching exchange students.

President Kim Ilmok and Director Shin Jiyeon of the Office of External and International Affairs, along with the delegation, visited Sagunto Adventist College in Spain on the 16th of last month, the International University of Rome (UNINT) in Italy on the 18th, Italian Adventist University Villa Aurora on the 19th, SOAS University of London in the UK on the 21st, and Newbold College on the 22nd to sign the international exchange MOUs.
With SOAS University of London, they agreed to select two students annually or each semester starting from September next year to be dispatched as exchange students to each university. SOAS is one of the 17 colleges under the University of London, located in central London. It is globally recognized for its research in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It is ranked within the top 400 universities in the '2023 QS World University Rankings.'
With the International University of Rome, they agreed on joint research, academic exchanges, exchange professors, development of short-term study abroad programs during vacations, and development of dual degree programs, and decided to dispatch two students annually or each semester as exchange students starting from September next year. The International University of Rome is a private university located in central Rome, Italy. It is considered one of the top 15 universities in Italy. This is the first agreement with a Korean university.
Additionally, they renewed the agreement with Newbold College in the UK, an existing sister university, and agreed to continue international exchanges such as dispatching exchange students. They also agreed to dispatch exchange students through new international exchange agreements with Sagunto Adventist College in Spain and Italian Adventist University Villa Aurora, both affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Furthermore, the Samyook University delegation participated in the '33rd EAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition (EAIE Rotterdam 2023)' held from the 26th to 29th of last month in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, hosted by the European Association for International Education (EAIE), one of the world's top three international education associations. They discussed international exchange plans and decided to pursue MOUs with 34 universities from 14 countries across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania.
Director Shin said, "By promoting practical new agreements with European universities that are highly preferred by students, we have diversified our international exchanges. Going forward, through continuous discussions and exchanges with these universities, we will strengthen the university's internationalization capabilities and provide more educational opportunities to our enrolled students."
