LIG Nex1 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the joint development of the TAURUS KEPD 350K-2 with Taurus at the 'Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2023' held at Seongnam Seoul Airport on the 17th, with representatives from both companies posing for a commemorative photo.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Geon-hyeok, Head of the PGM Business Division at LIG Nex1, Joachim Knopf, CEO of Taurus, and key officials from LIG Nex1 and TAURUS Systems.
This joint development project aims to miniaturize and upgrade the existing TAURUS KEPD 350K missile in connection with the increased demand for air-to-ground missiles following the export of the domestically produced light combat aircraft FA-50, targeting the export market.
Through this MOU, LIG Nex1 and Taurus plan to share technologies related to the KEPD 350K-2 and discuss specific measures for joint development.
Kim Ji-chan, CEO of LIG Nex1, stated, “We plan to actively demonstrate LIG Nex1’s guided weapon research and development capabilities in the field of airborne armaments,” adding, “The business agreement with Taurus is expected to give wings to this plan.”
