The Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui University of Science has been selected for the 7th phase of the BB21 Plus (Brain Busan 21 plus) project promoted by Busan City.
The BB21 Plus (Brain Busan 21 plus) project, supported by Busan City and Busan Technopark, is a talent development initiative by Busan City aimed at nurturing master's and doctoral research talents to strengthen the competitiveness of local universities and industries.
The Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui University of Science was selected for the convergence talent-type project group titled "Hybrid Vehicle Design, Production, and Maintenance Workforce Development Project to Expand Competitiveness of Eco-friendly Vehicles," receiving a budget of approximately 240 million KRW over five years until September 2028.
The funds will be used as scholarships, and 12 scholarship students will be selected from second-year students. The selected scholarship recipients will receive 300,000 KRW monthly, totaling 3.6 million KRW annually, covering tuition and living expenses.
Kim Man-ho, the project leader, stated, "During the five years of the 6th phase BB21 Plus project, the funding supported by Busan City was a valuable resource that enabled many students to secure quality jobs," adding, "We will cultivate the workforce needed in the industrial field to enhance the competitiveness of the department and the Busan regional industry."
Established in 1995, the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui University of Science has trained over 5,000 automotive professionals to date and actively carries out various workforce development projects such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s "Future Vehicle On-site Workforce Development Project," the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s "Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students," and the "Cheonghaejin University Project."
