Designated by Kim Jong-hoon, Chairman of HanmiGlobal
Ajou Group announced on the 18th that Chairman Moon Kyu-young has joined the 'Zero Disposable Products Challenge.'
The Zero Disposable Products Challenge is an environmental protection project initiated by the Ministry of Environment in February. Participants, including public institutions, companies, organizations, and citizens, post on social networking services (SNS) their commitment to reducing the use of disposable cups and nominate subsequent participants to continue the challenge.
Ajou Group is known for its efforts in environmental protection. Ajou Industry, a building materials affiliate, has implemented measures such as establishing a greenhouse gas inventory, installing LED lighting inside offices and factories across all business sites to reduce electricity consumption, replacing company vehicles with eco-friendly ones, and installing automatic stack monitoring systems (TMS) to measure air pollutants.
Rise Autograph Collection, a hotel affiliate, is conducting a 'Zero Project' to reduce the use of plastics and disposable products. They have replaced bathroom amenities with reusable dispensers and are selling reusable slippers and bags that can be used in daily life instead of disposable slippers and plastic laundry bags. Food and beverage establishments have replaced paper menus with mobile devices, and packaging containers are provided as biodegradable eco-friendly products.
Chairman Moon stated, "Small efforts that can be practiced in daily life will serve as the foundation for a better tomorrow's environment," and added, "We will continue to carry out ongoing environmental protection campaigns that all members can participate in to maintain our commitment to environmental protection."
Chairman Moon joined this challenge upon being nominated by Kim Jong-hoon, Chairman of HanmiGlobal. He nominated Seung Myung-ho, Chairman of Donghwa Group, Kwon Oh-seop, Chairman of L&P Cosmetic, and Kim Dong-won, President of Korea University, as subsequent participants.
