On the 17th, Jungnang-gu Sustainable Development Committee Appointment Ceremony and Service Commencement Report Meeting Held... Service Commencement Report Meeting for 'Establishment of Basic Strategy and Promotion Plan for Sustainable Development' Also Held
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the appointment ceremony for the Jungnang-gu Sustainable Development Committee and the commencement report meeting for the research project on the 17th.
The 'Jungnang-gu Sustainable Development Committee' is composed of a total of 27 members, including Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu as an ex officio member, 7 ex officio members, and 20 appointed council members including district councilors. Going forward, the committee will deliberate and advise on policies for the sustainable development of the district for two years in accordance with the 'Seoul Metropolitan City Jungnang-gu Sustainable Development Basic Ordinance.'
The main deliberation topics include ▲matters related to the establishment and modification of basic strategies and implementation plans ▲matters related to the preparation of sustainable development indicators ▲matters related to sustainability evaluation and reporting ▲and other matters recognized by the district mayor as necessary for sustainable development.
At the appointment ceremony held that day, appointment letters were awarded to the 20 appointed members, and Kim Jong-hwa, president of the Jungnang-gu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was elected as co-chairman to lead the committee together with ex officio Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi, and Ryu Ki-jung, head of the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, was elected as vice-chairman.
Following this, a commencement report meeting for the research project to establish the basic strategy and implementation plan, which are mid- to long-term plans for sustainable development in Jungnang-gu, was also held.
The Social Innovation Research Institute, selected as the research agency, will establish the basic strategy for sustainable development (20 years) and the implementation plan (5 years) tailored to the characteristics and conditions of the district by March next year, and conduct research for indicator development and securing effectiveness.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “The role of the Sustainable Development Committee is truly important for Jungnang-gu to be reborn as a sustainable development city, so I ask for the active participation of the committee members,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a Jungnang-gu that harms nothing, excludes no one, and moves toward better development.”
