Jo Young-im, a member of the Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, raised her voice urging innovation and management stabilization of the Gwangsan District Facilities Management Corporation.
On the 17th, Councilor Jo made a 5-minute free speech at the 1st plenary session of the 283rd Gwangsan District Council temporary meeting.
Councilor Jo emphasized, "The Facilities Management Corporation was established to improve poor working conditions and enhance the quality of public services."
She continued, "There is a need for reflection and innovation regarding its operation under authoritarian management and abusive behavior, and the founding purpose must not be distorted or damaged."
She pointed out, "Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the corporation's establishment, but it has received below-average grades annually in public enterprise management evaluations," and added, "There have been 53 disciplinary actions against the corporation's executives and employees in the past five years, which is notably higher compared to 10 to 20 cases in other autonomous districts."
In conclusion, she urged, "It is necessary to secure leadership that can accept the corporation's opinions, establish internal regulations, and strengthen organizational and institutional operations through employee capacity building, and actively work towards creating a labor-management win-win organizational culture."
