Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk held a final inspection meeting at 9 a.m. on the 16th in the small conference room of the county office to ensure the successful implementation of the 2023 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training, which will be conducted from October 23 to 27.
The meeting was chaired by County Governor O Do-chang with all 13 collaborative departments of the county office present. Attendees focused on thoroughly reviewing the training scenarios, departmental and institutional duties and roles to ensure the training effectively strengthens joint response capabilities for large-scale fires in densely populated facilities, crowd accidents, and wildfire occurrences. A free discussion session was also held.
A county official stated that, assuming large-scale fires in densely populated facilities, crowd accidents, and wildfire occurrences, unannounced discussion and field training will be conducted on the 27th. On the 26th, fire evacuation drills and basic fire safety education will be held at the Yeongyang Elementary School-affiliated kindergarten under the supervision of institutional heads.
Governor O Do-chang said, “For this training, to enhance joint civil-government response capabilities, not only related institutions such as the police and Yeongyang and Ipam 119 Safety Centers but also private organizations including the Safe Korea Training Experience Group, wildfire suppression teams, volunteer firefighters, and safety security officers will participate in large numbers. I also heard that Uiseong-gun has expressed its willingness to support.” He added, “In particular, this training is expected to strengthen disaster response capabilities by increasing the activity level of the disaster safety communication network during situation dissemination and response reporting at disaster sites.” He urged, “I hope the efforts of the training participants will shine and that this training will be more substantial than ever. Above all, safety is paramount, so please pay special attention to preventing any safety accidents during the training process.”
