Air Busan Launches New Regular Service on Busan-Matsuyama, Japan Route

Air Busan will operate the Busan-Matsuyama regular route for the first time among domestic airlines.

Air Busan will newly launch the Busan-Matsuyama route three times a week (Wed, Fri, Sun) starting November 10.

With this Matsuyama route, Air Busan will operate flights from Busan to all four major islands of Japan: ▲Honshu (Tokyo, Osaka), ▲Kyushu (Fukuoka), ▲Hokkaido (Sapporo), and ▲Shikoku (Matsuyama).

The Busan-Matsuyama route schedule departs from Gimhae International Airport at 3:15 PM and arrives at Matsuyama Airport at 4:20 PM. The return flight departs from the local airport at 5:20 PM and arrives at Gimhae International Airport at 6:30 PM.

The flight time takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, and an A321-200 aircraft with 220 seats will be deployed.

Air Busan temporarily operated irregular flights on the Busan-Matsuyama route last July and has also operated irregular flights to small Japanese cities such as Toyama and Miyazaki.

Recently, the travel trend of Koreans to Japan has shifted from major cities and famous tourist spots to regional small cities, increasing the number of travelers waiting for direct flights to small cities. In response, Air Busan announced that it launched the regular route to improve passenger convenience.

An Air Busan official said, “Matsuyama is a small Japanese city with a population of about 500,000 and is highly recommended for travelers seeking unique regions in Japan,” adding, “We will strive to enhance convenience for travelers departing from the Busan area so they can travel to major regions without transfers.”
