Plankorea-Kumho P&B Chemicals Join Forces to Support Medical Care for At-Risk Children in Korea

International relief and development NGO Plan Korea announced that it is actively joining forces with Kumho P&B Chemicals to provide medical support for children in crisis in South Korea.

Kumho P&B Chemicals, a subsidiary of Kumho Petrochemical Group, delivered a donation for medical expenses to Plan Korea on the 12th at its headquarters, with employees and Plan Korea officials in attendance, to support the healthy growth of children in crisis in the country.

This donation was raised through the voluntary in-house campaign “Step Donation Campaign” by Kumho P&B Chemicals employees, continuing from last year.

The Step Donation Campaign is conducted to protect the environment by saving energy and reducing carbon emissions through employees’ daily walking, while also supporting children in difficult circumstances based on the number of steps taken by employees, which adds greater significance to the campaign. The donation will be used through Plan Korea to provide medical support for children in crisis within the country who are in challenging environments.

Plan Korea’s “Children in Crisis Support Project” targets children and families in crisis situations, providing support for living expenses, medical expenses, education costs, and housing costs, as well as promptly resolving issues faced by children and families to help children grow up healthily.

The donation delivered this time will be used for the treatment of a child suffering from von Willebrand disease type 1, a hereditary bleeding disorder that causes easy and prolonged bruising, difficulty in stopping bleeding when it occurs, and concerns about symptom worsening.

A Kumho P&B Chemicals official said, “We are very pleased to contribute to improving children’s health and spreading a culture of sharing in the local community again this year through Plan Korea,” adding, “We hope to be a small help for children to grow emotionally and physically healthier and more upright in a stable environment.”

A Plan Korea official stated, “The valuable donations from Kumho P&B Chemicals employees will greatly help the independence and protection of children in crisis,” and added, “We will continue our efforts to support the healthy growth of children in crisis.”
