Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends '2023 Disabled Job Fair'

Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends '2023 Disabled Job Fair'

On the 12th at 11 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the ‘2023 Nowon-gu Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities’ held at Junggye Neighborhood Park in Nowon-gu, Seoul.

The ‘2023 Nowon-gu Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities’ aimed to avoid a formalistic fair and instead provide customized jobs for persons with disabilities seeking employment, creating a fair where the disabled participants themselves actively engage.

The fair venue was broadly divided into ▲Recruitment Hall ▲Job Training Hall ▲Promotion Hall ▲Side Event Hall. In the Recruitment Hall, 25 booths from corporate recruitment centers participated, with a total of 45 companies conducting customized job interviews according to disability type and job category. The Job Training Hall offered hands-on experiences in barista work, baking and pastry, nail art, kiosk operation, and subcontracting tasks. The Promotion Hall featured 10 local organizations related to jobs for persons with disabilities, providing institutional promotion and job vacancy information. The Side Event Hall provided various attractions such as employment support through interview ID photo shoots, demonstrations of massage for the visually impaired, and calligraphy.

Post-event support was also provided to job seekers who participated in the fair. After the fair, employment status and adaptation after employment were checked, and unemployed persons with disabilities continued to receive employment counseling and linkage services.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, “We will actively support discovering quality companies and lowering the employment barriers for persons with disabilities through this meeting place between persons with disabilities and companies.”
